REST UK has over 40 (July 2009) Licensed Massage Therapist volunteers
trained in the on-site massage chair routine and Critical Incident Stress
Management.
Our treatment involves on-site non-intrusive chair massage and aromatherapy.
Developed by leading complementary practitioners, our system is approved by conventional medical authorities.
REST
UK use only highly trained, experienced volunteer massage therapists who
are available to attend any critical incident within the UK.
Each
volunteer is a licensed massage therapist whose personal liability insurance
includes voluntary work.
The training of the group involves Critical Incident Stress Management, although it is important to note that this is not the function of the service and the massage therapists will not offer advice or counselling. However they can fulfil an important role in this area by listening. Their raised awareness enables them to identify individuals who may require more comprehensive psychological assistance and suggest to them that they may wish to avail themselves of support services in this area.
